First Class (3rd Period)

Describe
What I observed in the class is that students felt motivated, and they wanted to participate in the class. However, some students were not paying attention because they were talking with their classmates. The environment was really nice because they were motivated to participate. The class was arranged in the horseshoe shape, and the materials I used were the projector since I used video to introduce the topic. Also, I used markers, the board, and some board games.

Students were talking too much because the instructions were not clear for them.

I think that most of the students did not understand some vocabulary because of their level. Also, I think that I should have given short instructions.

Giving clear directions is really important because the teacher and the students can achieve the purpose of the activity

Giving clear directions can help the teacher and students to fulfill the objective of the class and the activities. On the contrary, giving bad directions will affect the class and the students won’t learn.

Based on what I already know about giving clear direction I think that teacher should plan the way they give directions as it depends if the students will learn or not.

Based on what I observed, I think students generally learn if they understand what the activity is going to be about. Also, that movies segments call the attention of ss.

I believe that if students do not understand the directions, the teacher has to look for a better way to give them as it is fundamental in a class.

So, in the future, I will use three verbs to give directions in order to achieve the purpose of the activities.

In future lessons I will include more speaking activities so that students can learn new vocabulary and develop their speaking skills.

The next time I teach this lesson, I will use more charts for the grammar explanation.

In future experiences I will also include the use movie segments to call the attention of students.
